Having problems with your MLM Retention Rate & Growth in your business?
Anyone who has recruited more than a couple of people into their network marketing business has experienced a lack of retention. While you are recruiting a new partner for your business 2 others are dropping out. Obviously, this is frustrating. It is even more frustrating to see people leaving faster than you can recruit them. What can you do to build a network marketing downline that becomes more stable?
Too often we are so caught up in recruiting a new downline that we forget about the downline we already have. We focus all of our energies on the toughest part of building the business which is recruiting. Yet we forget to take action on the easiest part: Follow-up with those who are already in.
While follow-up customer service may seem difficult to get to sometimes, it is extremely important for future growth and improving your retention rates. The number of people in the downline who drop out should not be dropping out like they are.
Your goal should be to improve the retention rate within your own team and to make your customer service to your downline a priority. It is far more difficult to recruit new people than it is to follow-up and follow-through with those you already have.
Below are five things you MUST do to have a higher MLM Retention Rate & to increase the chances of keeping your network marketing business with a full and profitable downline.
5 MLM Retention Rate & Growth Tips
- Communication — this is the oil you pour on the gears of relationships to reduce heat and friction.
- Training — this means teaching them the knowledge, insights, attitudes and skills they need to be successful. Knowledge by itself is useless… they need ALL four aspects.
- Recognition — this can be even more important than financial rewards for many people. Few people receive recognition in their lives, and it’s one of the most vital factors in helping them become motivated and committed.
- Logistical Support — this is making sure that they know how to complete their paperwork properly, order products and pay for them, keep records, process refunds, etc. It’s the nuts and bolts of the business, supported by the company’s own systems.
- Emotional Support — this is the BIG one… you need to be there for them when the going is tough, with encouragement and practical support that will remove their fears and confusion, disappointment and discouragement. And you need to recognize them for their achievements at every stage of the process. Peer recognition in meetings and rallies, newsletters, blogs should reinforce and encourage them to keep moving onward and upward at every step of the way. Private phone calls, emails and other regular, personal contact is profoundly important.
In summary make follow-up and customer service with your network marketing mlm downline a priority. This is the key to higher retention and increased income for you and them in the future.
