Overcoming Adversity can be a challenge for you, this is how you can beat it.
Here are some great points that can help you overcome adversity and to be more successful in your life.
What is Adversity? It’s an unfortunate event or circumstance (We have them every time in our lives). There are those people who are defeated by nothing and those who give up at the first “bump in the road”.
What does this mean? This refers to the type of person who chooses a goal and plans a way to accomplish it, but gives up at the first minor setback, disappointment or adversity. Perhaps the goal is to recruit 4 people in their business by the end of the week and they decide to go out and doing the business committing to start on Monday. When they wake up Monday, it’s raining, it’s cold or it’s too hot (effecting their mood) and they are not excited for their appointments. They face their first NO so they blame everything, it isn’t working for them or they are not good at this. Then the plan goes downhill from there. Here are some tips they can help you:
– Understand that NO’s are part of the process
In everything we do in life, not everyone will agree with what we did, what we are doing or what we are going to start doing. So you need to find those who are on the same path as you and have the same vision (like minded) so you can move forward in life.
– Always remember that no matter how good or how bad things are, they are going to get better.
As they say, the storm cannot be forever, it will pass you just have to hold on till it passes and you’ll be able to see the sunrise. Life, business are a roller coaster… you will have ups and downs so embrace the fact that things will not be always great especially from the start but they will get better as you go along. Focus on the great things that happened and that will happen and learn from the curve you’ll face during the ride.
– Believe in yourself, because if you don’t believe in yourself, then why should others believe in you.
Many successful people say it in their best selling books and when they speak to empower others… BELIEVE in yourself. Self belief is very important. Click Here to Learn 7 Steps to Increase Self Belief. You have to stand up, get out and take charge.
– Never, ever, ever give up!
Quitting is not an option it is a habit of every individual that he or she never wanted or got to know how to win it. People quit daily… they quit their jobs, they quit their training, they quit their diets and even they quit on themselves. These people will never be successful in what they do unless they sink once and for all their Quitting habit. Never give up, always give in.
– Have a positive attitude of Some Will, Some Won’t, So What… Who’s Next?
Always flip your cards until you find your aces. That’s how winning is done! If you have a positive attitude and keep flipping the cards you will find your aces sooner than you think. The SWSWSW (Some Will, Some Won’t, So What) method is a great way on how to approach what you do especially in business. Not everyone joins what you do…. there is a ratio 3/10. The good news is that by experience you can increase that ratio. 🙂
– If you do find yourself folding under stress and you are finding life a bit of a struggle seek help from a person that you trust.
Do you have a mentor? This could be your father, mother, sister, brother, pastor or someone you admire and have always given you great positive advice to reach your targets in your life. Open up with them so they can help you even with their words of wisdom. Always seek assistance when you feel like you are climbing a mountain.
– To succeed, you need something to hold onto, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.
Success is certainly not a one man show, it’s a team effort so make sure you meet up with the team as much as you can. You might have people with different characteristics that inspires and motivates you to do more and give more. Hang with the Best to be the Best. That keeps you belly on fire all the time.
– Be persistent and resilient, when you are tired and you feel you cannot go another step, reach deep inside and press on.
Have you asked yourself… How Bad Do You Want It? As one of my mentors says Motivational Speaker Eric Thomas “If you want it as bad as you want to breath, then you be successful”. Be persistent which is one of the keys to success and when you feel tired keep going no matter what. It is not easy but it is worth it.
– Success in life is not a destination, it is a journey.
Success is a journey and a journey is a process with all the ups and downs. Take a leap of faith towards the steps you are taking in your journey. You only need to see where you are putting your feet but you must have a vision to where you are going.
Can you imagine the difference in self esteem and self respect in these two different approaches? Saying you will start and giving up at the first bump gives a feeling of failure, distrust of your own integrity, and insecurity about trustworthiness of your own future promises.
Saying you will start and finding a way to start in spite of the bump gives a tremendous feeling of success, deep trust in your own integrity and a strong feeling of security about the trustworthiness of your own future promises.
