Wondering How To Find Prospects On Google+?

Do you know that there are well over 340 Million active users on Google+ ?

I recently read that the “+1” button on Google+ is pushed more than 5 billion times a day. Pretty crazy right? The marketer in me immediately thought: There’s a lot more people using Google+ than I thought. How can I take advantage of that?

Google+ does have a lot of users as I have mentioned and with the recent encryption of all search activity along with the announcement of Google Helpouts, Google+ is on every marketer’s radar. And it’s not only great for SEO, but it’s also the perfect place to find prospects for your home business.

So, to help other marketers make the most out of their Google+ network, I’ve put together this post How To Find Prospects On Google+ that includes 6 steps (and visuals!) to connect with potential prospects for your home business in the social world of Google+.

#1: Keyword phrases people use to find you on search.

These keyword phrases (at least 3 keywords per post) are a great starting point to recognizing how people are finding out about you now. Three of these keyword phrases will give you a solid foundation for prospecting.

#2: Content that is related to the search results of your 3 keyword phrases.

Being able to identify content topics that hit home with your target audience is key to understanding how to draw new prospects into your world.

#3: Search your keyword phrases on your Google+ account.

Get better context from your search results by selecting All before you do your search.

#4: Identify people and pages and follow them.

Doing this step you will automatically create new contacts within your niche that could potentially turn into leads for you. It requires a bit of poking around. Spend a few minutes really checking out what you’re seeing in your search results. The more time you spend being thorough now will set you up for success in the future.

#5: Join communities.

Same thing here. You should approach your initial search into these communities like “window shopping”: Look around before you commit. There you find the possible prospects for your product, service or opportunity. One can create communities and google+ will show you the recommendations for you (depends what you posted before).

#6: Start engaging the potential prospects you discovered on pages and in communities.

Marching Orders for you:

  • Dig into pages and people you’ve followed, add value (all of the time) and ask them questions (Be Genuinely Interested not Interesting) through comments.

  • Like (“+1”) any content that’s relevant to your home business and product or service that you are promoting.

  • Seek active contributors in your communities and engage with them through answering questions or providing valuable content.

  • Spend 15 minutes a week searching Google+ posts and commenting on one relevant piece of content.

  • Spend 15 minutes a week working to build relationships with active contributors in communities by adding thought leadership to content they’ve shared.
