Ok! So in this post, I will highlight what one shouldn’t be doing starting from right now, if they are looking to get people interested in taking a look at their products/service or business opportunity.

Spammy Posts –

Most Network Marketing companies won’t even allow you to post their presentation/website link, not even to post a photo or a banner with the company logo.

So why people do it?

Again, because they thing that Mary is going to click on that link and they are going to sign up in your business. LOL

Forget about that (scarcity mentality)… you know it is not how it works.

It is a waste of time and energy.

If you want to be a Network Marketing Pro and a Servant Leader you’ve got to post generic value content (informative, inspirational, and entertaining)…

I normally post about 3 main things…

  • Relationships – (family, friends posts)
  • Inspiration – (text thoughts/quotes, long story posts)
  • Lifestyle – (travel photos + videos as I am in the travel business, my lifestyle, fun things)

My mindset of why I post is that… I post to to signup people in my business but to help them out, to inspire them, to motivate them and to show them what it is possible if they want to.

You will see more engagement from the people who are following you and who will start follow you that way.

Be consistent in your posting schedule.

Offensive Posts –

First, thing that I suggest you to do is to unfollow or better unfriend the people who you see posting about negative stuff.

You do not need to have those seeds daily coming in you mind.

You’ve got to protect yourself from negativity or negative people.

Second, never post anything regarding religion, war, politics or opposite football team.

If you are using your facebook profile (or other social media) to build your business, you have to stay away from conflicts and discussions on these topics.

Other great pointers are:

  • Do not bash of having a JOB.
  • Be more relate-able not arrogant.
  • Do not bash or hate competitors.

What you feed will grow what you ignore will die.

Copy & Paste Message –

When you make new connections on social media, you have to know that people go on social media to be social first and foremost and not to be sold.

So, the more social you will be the more you have the potential to turn strangers to friends as you will be interested more in them that showing or talking more about you.

To connect with people, do not copy and paste the same message but be unique and observe something in their profile (where they are from, their family, a post they posted etc…)

Huge TIP: Congratulate them first on something they did post, they said on a post or they shared in your private message.

“Hey John, I happened to see on your brilliant comment in the ______ group, and I totally resonate with that. How long have you been in the group?”

That is an example on how to connect with people. (Again, do not copy this and paste) hahaha.

Too Direct Too Soon –

It is all about building relationships!

Once this gets in your mind you are going to build a big business.

The more you discover about them, the more they start trusting YOU!

People join people… not opportunities.

So, do not rush things when building or solidifying a relationship with someone you hardly know.

Make the effort to strengthen that relationship and how you can possibly help them with what you have (without promising anything) with the concern that they might have right now… (not time, no money or they are looking for something better).

Not Pre-Qualifying –

This comes to what type of questions you are asking.

It all boils down to asking great questions and there is a system to that.

We know it as F.O.R.D (Family, Occupation, Recreation, Dreams).

This will help you save time and pre-qualifying people before you put them infront of your information.

Network Marketing Professionals do now waste time with people who are not open and not qualified to take it to the next step.

Recruiting On Your Own/Not Using Tools And Stories –

This is something that newbies hardly get a grip around.

It is a teamwork, it is not an individual sport.

Are you asking for help from your sponsor/upline to assist you in 3 way calls?

If not, I can only guess what your sign up ratio is!

If you do not have stories, testimonies or third party validation, your prospects are going to end up saying ‘I’ve got to think about it’.

Use Zoom calls with Uplines or Group Calls on Messenger or on Whatsapp.

They are perfect for 3 Way Calls, that will only take a couple of minutes out of your sponsor/upline busy schedule to share their story and help you out with the closing.

Not Asking Enough Questions –

When it comes to closing, it is like having a vault!

Yes… your goal is to try opening that vault.

The only way to do that not to re-present your opportunity, but to ask great closing questions that will make your prospect realize that if they keep doing what they are doing they will keep having what they are having.

Are you asking great questions when it is closing time?

Not Communicating in the Era We Live In –

When was the last time you receive a call from a friend of yours?

Tough question to answer right!

Your method of communication is not by calling but by texting or leaving a voice message nowadays.

It is like that ‘People do not want to talk on the phone anymore’.

Funny right?!? but it is more like it.

How many of us despise doing phone calls?

People are connecting differently than 10, 20 years ago when there was no facebook messenger, whatsapp, skype, zoom, etc.

You have to communicate with the devices, tools and apps most people are on.

Skills are acquired by first learning them and then applying them.
