It is that time again for another holiday. This time I took my brother with me to experience more how I am traveling that often paying ridiculous price together with my friends. We went to the Mega Dream Trip in Halkidiki, Greece and stayed at the beautiful resort of Porto Carras.
This is a magical place to start with. I mean as soon as we landed at the Thessaloniki Airport from Rome, I knew that we are going to experience something else… something exciting. Our new friends Foni & Anna picked us up from the airport and we headed for a 1 hour 45 mins drive to Porto Carras Grand Resort (Winner of 2 awards at the World Travel Awards as the Greece Leading Family Resort and Greece Leading Resort in 2014). We stopped a couple of times to see the magical small beaches all with a Beach disco club to entertain the guests.
Arriving at the hotel it was really great after so many hours traveling from Malta. The place is really something in a zone where there is mountains, trees and beaches. We headed straight to do our VIP check in with our travel club and we headed to our gorgeous room. You are asking… How was the view from your room? Well, it was absolutely amazing! You see the sea and the small island (which has a Greek name of a shell and a turtle shape if you see it from the opposite side). Then also the resort pools etc…
We had a party that night on the beach and started to meet our 1,000+ international friends. The next day we had a jam-packed day with some beach time, playing beach volleyball and in the evening we had the group photo, white theme party with the mix & mingle and after party on the beach with live saxophonist playing the tunes with the DJ. Made loads of new friends from different countries but the common factor was that we all speak the same language which is Fun, Freedom & Fulfilment.
On Sunday then we headed for the Horse Riding Experience after breakfast. It was my first time and I was really excited for this one to experience more doing something I’ve never done. The instructor showed me how to ride and control the beautiful white horse I have been given and we went in the beautiful path around the peaceful resort, riding and taking photos. After that we went to chill out by the pool with our little blue sign and took some videos before we headed to the wine tasting and the thalassotherapy massage which was awesome with super jets massaging all your body after all that hard work.
Then in the evening we all headed for our Gala Night Dinner at Kohi beach which was spectacular, with different Mediterranean dishes to choose from, great company of new and old friends and fireworks. We closed the night with the after beach party dancing all night to the summer tunes.
This holiday made it to my Top 5 best holidays I have experienced so far for multiple reasons. First was the ridiculous price we paid for this trip. The normal rate per night at Porto Carras Grand Resort is around Euro 150 per night per head (no breakfast nor dinner) and thanks to our travel club we used our Dream Trip Reward points of ($150=Eur 100 worth) and paid Eur 180 for the whole 4 days 3 Nights (Half Board and included the excursions of wine tasting, thalassotherapy massage, gala night dinner in the price plus other discounts). Great savings indeed!
I look forward for my next adventure 🙂
