June 2014 was a month that celebrated one of the best international events in the whole world… the Brazil World Cup 2014. We all know that to the Brazilians football (for US peeps Soccer) is their religion or close to it.
I took a trip to Amsterdam which is hailed Europe’s Naughtiest Cities for a seminar together with my travel buddies. We stayed at the Novotel Amsterdam… a really modern and nice hotel with great food and nice staff. It was my second time to visit Amsterdam and as soon as we landed in Schipol Airport, one could not miss the ‘Orange’ colour everywhere. These people are also crazy about their national side and they should be as they had and still have a great squad that can beat any opponent they encounter.
In the city center though you will find the bars and restaurants jam-packed glued to the big screens with their pints in front of them watching the matches. One of the best moments was when the Netherlands played Spain in the group phase. We were eating in a restaurant outside and you could literally feel the energy especially when the Netherlands starting the demolishing Spain goal after goal. Everyone was cheering and celebrating not once… well six times as the match ended 6-1.
During that weekend at the seminar at Amsterdam RAI we gathered to learn from the best people in our company that taught us some amazing life lessons and leadership lessons. For the very first time I attended the Leadership training and I have learned something different regarding team building which is helping me now to scale my international business and increase retention rate.
A great coincidence, I have met a young lady at the registration from my country; Malta. It was funny seeing her expression and she asked me ‘Are you Maltese?’ Also, it was my pleasure meeting again some of the guys I have met on the Malta Dream Trip in May. We took some pictures and then we focused on learning how we can help more people and liberating the oppressed with amazing leaders and mentors that are making things happen.
Trip Highlights
- Experiencing the Netherlands winning against Spain in their capital city center
- Meeting closely one of my mentors Marc Accetta then the Executives Kyle Lowe and Eddie Head
- Attending the Leadership Session for the very first time with the leaders
- Touring the city by night with new friends
